Support to the DREAM program in the United Republic of Tanzania

Descriptions: The Primary objective of the project is to support the activitites of the three DREAM Centers in Tanzania, Iringa, and Usa-River in the regions of Arusha, Masanga, and Ara-Tarime. Between 2011 and the first months of 2012, these three centers doubled the number of patients, serving a total of 2,260 individuals. Following the increase in the number of patients, the DREAM Centers in the aforementioned areas were faced with the difficult task of sustaining higher costs for ongoing activities and doing everything possible to accomodate and serve all new patients. The activities of these centers include medical visits, follow up visits, lab exams – including CD4 and Viral Load counts in order to monitor the progression of the infection – prevention of mother to child transmission, health education, as well as food and home care assistance.

Beneficiaries:  1,000 adults and children

Locations: DREAM Centers of Iringa, Usa-River in the region of Arusha, Masanga, and Ara-tarime
