placeholderMalawi  DREAM center in Kapire, Malawi

In Kapire, located in the district of Manghocci, is a small Hospital run by the Sisters of Poverelle. Sister Bea, of the order, for many years cared for those who infected with AIDS. She would drive them down to the DREAM Center of Balaka so that they could receive treatment. Transporting everyone was not sustainable, especially as the rain season hit the country every year, and so DREAM decided to invest its resources in building a small center within the compound of the hospital.

The team is made up of two nurses, a clinical officer, and a group of women activists. This small team has successfully created an excellent Center, which since its opening has received several recognitions for its excellent standard of care and retention rate of patients, notwithstanding the fact that it was located in a rural area.
