DREAM center in Masanga, Tarime district, Tanzania
The Center for Treatment and for the Cure of AIDS (CTC) within the Hospital of Masanga, in the region of Ara-Tarime, is run by the Congregation of Daughters of Charity in collaboration with the Community of Sant’Egidio. The Center was built in October of 2010.
The Daughters of Charity built a laboratory, which carries out all blood work and all CD4 count tests next to the DREAM center. An agreement was also signed with local authorities so that the laboratory could support the analysis of ministerial health centers in the area. Before this laboratory was built CD4 counts had not been administered in the region for more than two years.
