NAC – The Malawi National AIDS Commission

The Malawian government created National AIDS Commission in 2001 in order to coordinate a response to HIV in the country. The commission was started because national intervention in this epidemic needed to have a holistic approach as well as generate an interaction and balance between services for HIV with services for other issues affecting the population – such as economic development, social services, community development, human rights, and equal opportunities.
